If You Want More Justice in the Justice System

“If you want more justice in the justice system, then we’ve all got to vote not just for a president, but for mayors, and sheriffs, and state’s attorneys and state legislators. That’s where the criminal laws are made, and we’ve got to work with police and protesters until laws and practices are changed. That’s how democracy works.” – President Barrack Obama

This is what Obama said last night during the DNC before giving his support to Hillary. There were other excerpts that would be more appropriate to post that would show his support. But like Obama always seems to do, he knows how to steal the show. Going into (both) convention(s), the hot topic still revolved around race and police brutality. As he says so simply, if we want fewer cases like Freddie Gray’s, then we need to start electing Mayors, Sheriffs, Legislators, and Attorneys that will hold the police accountable for their actions.

This is usually the paragraph where I wrap up the moral of the post, but since Obama said it so well, I don’t have to.
