Marine Discharged for Refusing to Remove Bible Quote From Her Work Station

According to Fox News, Lance Corporal Monifa Sterling was stationed at Camp Jejeune in North Carolina in May of 2013 when she taped the Bible verse ‘no weapons formed against me shall prosper’.

As a result she was convicted February 2014 at a court martial for not following orders to take down the verse. Monifa was then dishonorably discharged and given a reduction in rank. The Liberty Institute has taken a stand with her.

‘Restricting a Marine’s free exercise of religion is blatantly unconstitutional.’ -Liberty Institute attorney Michael Berry.

Former US Solicitor General Paul Clement has filed an appeal working on behalf of the Liberty Institute and Sterling
